This is the standard behaviour for all Maya field nodes.<\/p>\n<p>In Maya the normal method of assigning a particle node to a field is to select both objects, selecting the <strong>FX Menu Set<\/strong> and then choosing the <strong>Fields\/Solvers &gt; Assign to Selected<\/strong> menu item as shown below:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-252 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/documentation.particleflocker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/AssignToSelected1.jpg\" sizes=\"(max-width: 945px) 100vw, 945px\" srcset=\"http:\/\/documentation.particleflocker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/AssignToSelected1.jpg 945w, http:\/\/documentation.particleflocker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/AssignToSelected1-300x165.jpg 300w, http:\/\/documentation.particleflocker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/AssignToSelected1-768x422.jpg 768w\" alt=\"\" width=\"945\" height=\"519\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Particle Flocker provides a shortcut to this menu item in its <strong>Utilities<\/strong> menu which does exactly the same thing.
